Abstract

The system developer is faced with the emergence of new technologies together with new ways of doing business and new ways of organising and working. Separately and together these present problems for the systems developer involved in requirements determination particularly if the developer is concerned with situated rather than solely formal requirements. This paper draws upon the learning from action case studies from traditional organisational settings which suggest that the use of Grounded Theory may be the basis for addressing some of the problems of determining situated requirements in this emerging technological environment.
