Abstract

The BioPsychoSocial (BPS) model has been criticized and praised more than it has been explicitly applied in scientific inquiry. This article will neither criticize nor praise, but rather examine the nature of the beast. Is it fish or fowl? Paradigm or theory? Model or dimension? And, what impact has this beast had on the evolution, or revolution, of theory and practice in medicine and psychology?
