Abstract
In the non-acute psychotic cases, which is to say, generally, our chief form of treatment is a milieu therapy usually involving separation of the child from its parents' home where the autistic routine cannot be broken and also the child is given orthopedagogic treatment in special small groups. In addition, we also try mild medication. Of late, we have been using Phasein 93 or Trifluperidol. With relativelysmall doses of these, we believe we have observed an improvement in the child's readiness to make contact, improvement in the child's mood, and also protection from anxiety. Attempts to take the children off these drugs resulted in several cases in a clear worsening of their condition.
