Abstract

Karl Marx (1818–1883) studied law at Bonn and Berlin, but soon became more interested in philosophy and history. In his early life he was influenced by the philosophy of Hegel, the ideas of Feuerbach, and the works of the economist David Ricardo, but later developed his own powerful and very influential theory, a theory intended to explain historical processes, economic facts, and political and social forces and norms.
