Abstract

Für ein Museum hat der Raum primär zweierlei Bedeutungen. Einerseits ist es der schützende und bewahrende Ort, an dem die Kunst so weit als möglich dem Zahn der Zeit entzogen ist und ihre materiellen Bestandteile erhalten werden. Andererseits bietet der museale Raum auch die Bühne, auf der das Kunstwerk wirkt und seine Kontextualisierung erfährt.For a museum, space means primarily two things. First, a place of protection and conservation where art is removed from the ravages of time as far as possible and where its material components are preserved. Second, the space of a museum also provides the stage on which a work of art exerts its effect and is contextualized.
