Abstract

According to G. L. Smirnov, the notion of the "new Soviet man" marks the third stage in the evolution of the Soviet notion of the human person, following on the concept of "builder of Communism" which served as focus to the scholastic development of mainline Marxist-Leninist ethics.¹
