Abstract

The aim of this part (Part II) — that is, of the present and the following two chapters — is to introduce Leibniz's concept of perception, to argue against approaches of perception which are restricted to conscious states, and to give a first impression as to how this concept might be a helpful means for interpreting results from contemporary neurophysiology and psychophysics.
