The concept of horizon
pp. 278-282
in: Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka (ed), The later Husserl and the idea of phenomenology, Dordrecht, Reidel, 1972Abstract
The term ‘horizon’ became prominent in Husserl’s later writings and it has been conspicuous in phenomenological works ever since. Though some aspects of the idea can be seen adumbrated in the Logical Investigations and the first volume of the Ideas, the clearest statements are found in the following texts: Husserliana, Vol. VIII, pp. 146–52; Husserliana, Vol. XI, pp. 3–15; Experience and Judgement, Par. 8. My remarks are principally based on these passages.
