Abstract

Clinical practice is where the clinical encounter occurs. It constitutes the focus of medicine. Since the time of Hippocrates, it has been composed of five activities. They are fundamental features of the healing relationship and have come to be known as anamnesis , i.e., history taking or clinical interview , diagnosis prognosis , therapy , and prevention . The present chapter is devoted to the analysis and discussion of the logical, methodological, and philosophical problems of these activities.
